Spending Revolt Educates Voters in Districts of
General Assembly Leaders



Four-day tour hosts 17 rallies and town halls across North Carolina


The new Spending Revolt coalition – made up of taxpayers, families, business owners, and policy organizations – is working to educate citizens about how mounting federal spending is jeopardizing America’s future, and engage them in taking action against this reckless spending. 

The Spending Revolt National Bus Tour will roll across North Carolina for a series of events from Sunday, Sept. 26 through Wednesday, Sept. 29th.
The tour will  highlight excessive spending by state legislative leaders by visiting the districts of:  State House Majority Leader Hugh Holliman (Lexington), House Speaker Joe Hackney (Chapel Hill), and Senate President Pro Tem Marc Basnight (Washington) and Vice Chairman of the Appropriations Committee, Represenative Jimmy Love. “Our General Assembly passed billions in new taxes to support their out of control spending habits, and it is important people speak out to stop the spending madness,” said Dallas Woodhouse, North Carolina State Director for Americans for Prosperity.  “The high taxes from the out-of-control spending will make it difficult for families to afford to raise children or for entrepreneurs to open businesses in North Carolina.”

This rate of spending is irresponsible and unsustainable. It limits our economic growth and our ability to create new jobs. If we allow our elected officials to continue their spend-first, pay-later habits, we will face higher taxes, a higher cost of living, and a stagnant economy.
The Spending Revolt coalition seeks to permanently transform government spending through individual activism. Families across the country have been forced to make tough economic decisions. It is time for our elected officials to do the same.
